TakingITGlobal, in partnership with the
2nd Student Conference on AIDS
and United Nations Millennium Development Goals (ISCA UNMDG’s 2005), is
inviting you to participate in our survey on the MDGs!.
The survey is now online! You can find it here:
http://surveys.takingitglobal.org/survey.html?SurveyID=26.
What are the MDGs?
At the United Nations Millennium Summit in 2000, 189 Heads of State and
Governments signed the Millennium Declaration, pledging to work together to make
a better world for all by 2015. Eight Millennium Development Goals were adopted,
committing rich and poor countries to work together in a global partnership to
eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, ensure that all boys and girls complete
primary school, promote gender equality, improve the health of mothers and
children, reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS, and protect the environment -- all by
2015.

Why this survey?
The survey aims to document the problems and solutions associated with the
achievement of the MDGs, especially Goal 6, which targets HIV/AIDS. It also aims
to understand the level of awareness of the MDGs among young people and to
identify which Goals young people are especially concerned about, what they can
do to help achieve them and what kind of tools they are lacking for this.
The results of the survey will be presented and discussed during ISCA UNMDG’s
2005. An online report about the outcomes will also be available on
TakingITGlobal’s MDG portal mdg.takingitglobal.org – so watch out for it in
June!
How is the survey structured?
The survey is structured in several sections: The first two sections ask about
your general background and how familiar you already are with the Millennium
Development Goals.
Section 3 focuses on Goal 6 (Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases).
After filling out the questions about Goal 6, you can either submit the survey
as-is, or you can continue answering questions about other goals. The questions
are much the same as those about Goal 6, but you will choose the Goal on which
you are focusing. You can choose two Goals (preferably those about which you are
most knowledgeable), and fill in one page of questions per Goal. If you only
wish to provide responses about one additional Goal, or skip this section of the
survey entirely, simply press “Submit.”
The survey is now online! You
can find it here:
