The 2nd International Students Conference on AIDS and United Nations Millennium Development Goals (2nd ISCA UNMDGs2005ZAMBIA) under the theme "UNITED WE STAND" is scheduled for July 17-23, 2005 in Lusaka (pictured below), the capital city of Zambia. The Conference welcomes you to Zambia...the Real Africa. And the Home of the "Mighty Victoria Falls".

Zambia is a place with great traditions for students' commitment and activities, yet we do believe that there is room for more.

ISCA is an ongoing HIV/AIDS problem-solving forum for students and also invites, professionals, politicians, leaders in government; public health, social and medical & life sciences. The conference has a rich array of plenary sessions, presentations, skills-building workshops, roundtables and networking sessions.

About 500 delegates representing several continents are anticipated to attend. This unique conference utilizes the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as a framework for analysis of the gender, poverty, education and economic issues, which contribute to HIV/AIDS.  The conference has an online study survey called ISCA UNMDG STUDY SURVEY prior to the event. Results from the survey will also be presented and discussed at the conference.

The Conference will take off with an AIDS memorial candlelight walk, dance and music and arts performances and unforgettable site seeing are also included.  By bringing together students from many different parts of the world, 2nd ISCA UNMDGs2005 will be both a conference and a festival, that will address the issues of the global pandemic of HIV/AIDS.

As you come to Zambia you will be part of the celebrations to mark 150 years of the first sight of the Victoria Falls by Scottish missionary and explorer Dr. David Livingstone. Who at the sight of the mighty Victoria Falls in 1855 said, "Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight". 2005 also marks 100 years since the town of Livingstone was founded.
